Saturday we had Ryan's birthday party. Last year, for his first birthday, I threw a huge carnival party and invited all my family (a ridiculous amount of people), all Jess's family, and threw in a few friends for good measure. I couldn't stand the thought of that this year. Seriously people. If I invite JUST my family that lives IN town, we are talking over 50 people. It's ridiculous. So we just invited a few people and had a SMALL party. It was nice!
Ryan loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and I found this super cute MMC party over on Oopsey Daisy. I pretty much got all my ideas from there because it was SO cute. Hers was DEFINITELY cuter than mine!
When the boys arrived, they sat at a table, put on the Mickey ears hat I had waiting for them, and began to color in their Mickey Mouse Clubhouse coloring books I got at Dollar Tree. They got to take these homes with their new pack of crayons and a goodie bag filled with a few small toys.
While they colored, I snapped some shots of the attendees.
After everyone got there, we played pin the ears on the Ryan. It was hilarious to watch. The last one to go was Daniel (just a couple months younger than Ry). We didn't even blindfold him and he stuck it perfectly over Ry's face. Ryan ran up to the picture, upset his face was covered. Priceless.
After lunch we did a cakewalk using Mickey Mouse & Friends pictures to the Hot Dog song from the show. The kids loved it!
Next, of course, we sang Happy Birthday, ate cupcakes with Oreos and mini Oreos to create a Mickey topper, and opened presents. Everyone got him the perfect gifts. He loves ALL his new toys. He's a lucky boy!
And finally, we put on a episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and just let the kids watch and play. Overall, it was a very fun afternoon!
Here are the invitations I made:
And I think my favorite part was the Mickey Mouse subway art I made. LOVE!

DeleteI'm so excited to have come across your post! We're planning the same theme for our little guy in January. He's turning 3 and STILL loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You've got some great ideas that I'm going to borrow.
