Day 3: Calafate
On Wednesday we boarded a plane for the 3 hour flight down to Calafate. It's more toward the southern tip of Argentina. We loved this city! It was so cute! There were lots of fun shops and unique places to eat. Our hotel was very nice and had a fancy restaurant to eat at. It just had this fun, small town feel to it. And the weather was absolutely gorgeous! Remember, it's currently summer in Argentina. Buenos Aires = hot and humid. Calafate = light sweater weather at night, short sleeves in the day. BEAUTIFUL! I could have stayed there forever. It was amazing!
Day 4: Calafate
Thursday brought one of my favorite Argentine adventures--the glacier!
This thing is MASSIVE! And absolutely beautiful! It was overcast that day and I was so grateful because it made for some truly amazing pictures!
First we walked down as close as you can get to the glacier. After that, we took a boat to get an even better view. I don't know if I've ever seen something so stunning. If you ever go to Argentina, please PLEASE visit this thing!
Day 5: Ushuaia
After the glacier, we hopped on another one hour flight to Ushuaia--the southernmost city in the world! On Friday we went on a boat ride. First we saw these birds that look like penguins, but they aren't.
Then we saw otters.
Next we passed a cool lighthouse.
And FINALLY...we saw penguins! A whole lot of penguins.
I, if you haven't noticed, am obsessed with penguins. I think they are the cutest animals EVER! I seriously considered getting an ice chest, stealing a penguin, and taking it home to live with me. If Mr. Popper can live with penguins, why not me? But, alas, Jess wasn't sure it was the greatest idea i've ever had. I'm still not convinced it wasn't.

Day 6: Ushuaia
The end of the world day! Not really, but we did take a train to the end of the world! The Argentine prison used to be located here because it was so far south.
We also took a ski lift ride for some gorgeous views and walked around at the top!
Part three coming shortly.
