Trip of A Lifetime...Part Three

Day 7: Back to Buenos Aires

Sunday was an interesting day. We woke up and went to church. But church was different. Why? Because we were in Argentina. So it was in Spanish. And since I don't know {much} Spanish, I understood very, VERY little.

Here's my analogy: You're in a room and the people in the room next to you are talking. You are able to catch a word here and there, but not enough to create meaning. You keep trying to understand, but finally are so annoyed with your lack of comprehension that you try to zone them out in frustration. Yup. Not fun. But it was cool, nonetheless. And we met some very friendly people!

The rest of the day we just hung out at the house and continued to catch up on missed sleep. We were exhausted by this point.

Day 8: Buenos Aires

On Monday we did another one of my favorite activities: visited the cemetery. Now, I know what you are thinking: "A cemetery? Really? That's just weird. What's so great about that?" That's exactly what I was thinking on our drive over. But once we arrived, I completely understood. This place was AMAZING!

There were hundreds of gorgeous mausoleums all over the place, scrunched together making rows and columns. It's frankly a great place for a horror movie. I can't imagine being trapped there in the pitch black all alone. FREAKY!

I think someone was trying to break out...

But it was sooooo pretty! There were a ton of tourists and I could have stayed there all day just walking up and down the aisles taking it all in. It's another Argentine must see, in my opinion.

Yes, that's a cat. A real one. Sleeping amongst the dead.

Day 9: Buenos Aires and plane

Tuesday was our last day in Argentina. First, we walked to the town near my in-laws house. We had lunch at a cute little sandwich and smoothie shop. Then we headed home, packed up, said our goodbyes, and headed for the airport. We were on an overnight flight and wouldn't get home until noon Arizona time on Wednesday.

I've determined something: I hate flights--especially long ones. And even more so long flights where the whole time all I can do is count down the hours, minutes, seconds until I get to see my baby again. Ah! Leaving behind your kid is really tough. It's nice for a few days, moments free of worrying about attending to their every need {and being able to sleep in!}, but after that...it's just tough!
