Goal #2

So I made a goal to work-out more.

And I did.

Until....Thursday night.

I was on the great elliptical for over an hour and everything was fine. Then I was working on a little wedding reception surprise where I proceeded to injure my knee. (Side note: I've had knee problems for about six or seven years now. They were getting better...until this).

Now...I'm having a hard time even walking. My whole LEG is swollen---not just my knee. And therefore, I couldn't go to the gym yesterday or today. And I was planning on starting twice-a-day gym sessions.

Apparently not anymore.

So here is goal number two: eat better. Thus, I can try to get in shape while having an injured knee.

Poor little knee. Feel better soon. I need you.

Happiness

i LOVE dance. mucho.

(I know this is a pom picture. But I don't have any dance ones on my computer. Don't judge.)

and i'm especially grateful for it today.

i hadn't been to class in awhile...but after watching the So You Think You Can Dance premiere (by the way...this is the BEST show EVER. don't argue with me. i'm right about this fact) on Thursday night...i realized that i REALLY miss it.

(Yes, that is Chelsie Hightower from SYTYCD and Dancing with the Stars)

So all day Monday I warmed myself up to have the motivation to pull myself away from my FABULOUS fiance around 7:30 and get myself to dance.

It was totally worth it. (Sorry Jess. I love you! But I needed the work-out).

And you know what made it even BETTER. My buffer Chelsi decided that she wanted to come with me! I luff her and was so happy that she came.

We learned a really sweet dance to Say (All I need) by OneRepublic. Cuteness Kelsey made it up (I luff her, too. She's adorable).

Um...yes. Basically I'm not gonna miss class anymore. Except for my honeymoon. ;)

Epic Fail

So pretty much I'm supposed to be writing on here everyday. And pretty much...that isn't going to happen. Because I'm planning a wedding. Seriously. I don't have time. But I love blogging so I'll do so when I have the time.

:)

Summary of the past week-ish:

Friday night: Jess and I decided to have a "night-in" --- meaning we did absolutely nothing. We went to his parents house and swam with his brother and sister-in-law and their two ADORABLE sons Josh and Davey. Then we watched television and ate Taco Bell in pajamas. No I did NOT comb my hair after swimming. YES I looked like a scrub. But that's okay. It was one of the funnest nights we've had.

Saturday: We moved some of my stuff over to the new house, including all the shower gifts. Then we worked on wedding stuff for the rest of the day, including typing up addresses for FIVE hours STRAIGHT. And yes, this was way fun also. That's the great thing about being with Jess...we can do absolutely nothing and still have lots of fun.

Sunday: JESS GOT RELEASED FROM ELDERS QUORUM PRESIDENT! I shouldn't sound so excited...but now he can come to church with me and we can spend more time together on Sundays because he won't have like a gazillion meetings every week.

Monday: We got our wedding invites put together. Way fun.

Tuesday: I got all my grades back. Straight A's. Yay for keeping scholarships!

Wednesday: I got a ton of stuff accomplished. Definitely a successful day.

Thursday: I spent all morning getting gorgeous. Nails, toes, hair, make-up. I got into my POOFY wedding dress. Jess got in a tux. We picked up my bouquet and his boutonniere and took some pre-wedding shots. The weather was BEAUTIFUL until it started to rain. So we didn't get to take all of the shots we would have like to take...but we still got some good ones. Annie Randall is awesome. Love her. Then....SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE started! :) My favorite show EVER. And they are now adding a fall season. I couldn't be happier.

That's an update.

April Jean

Today I want to give a shout-out to one AMAZING girl...April Jean! :)

This girl has changed my life in more ways than she'll ever know. Seriously, she is simply FABULOUS. Here's just a FEW reasons why.

one---Because of her, I gained a sister. Sure, she's not biologically my sister; but she is my sister nonetheless. Don't' argue.

two---She has so much ambition. She is both a paralegal and an esthetician. Seriously.

three---She is very intelligent. I wish I had her brain.

four---April has one of the strongest testimonies of the gospel of anyone I know.

five---She is GORGEOUS! She could be a model. Undoubtedly.

six---She is so fun to hang out with. We have lots of fun together even if we aren't doing much of anything...it's ALWAYS fun!

seven---She is hilarious. I'm always laughing when I'm with her. Wow.

eight---She gives great advice. I can tell her anything and she always knows what to say. I love talking to her.

nine---She GETS me. I don't know how she does it...but she just KNOWS what's going on in my head most the time.

ten---She has taught me so much about life throughout the years.

There are about a MILLION other great things I could say about this girl. But right now...I'll end with this:

I have been so blessed to have April be a part of my life. I am so grateful that she came to live with us for 4+ years and that we grew so close. I am also grateful that she is down here now and can help with wedding planning.

April = best maid of honor ever!

I {heart} her lots and lots.

Something New

I, Britney Jean, need something new with my blog.

Why?

[1] I'm annoyed with it
[2] I've been too busy to deal with life...so blogging went out the window for a bit
[3] I finished my last final this morning---everyone scream YAY!---and now have more free time...sorta
[4] I love to write
[5] I love to blog
[6] I love to read blogs
[7] I love getting blog comments
[8] My blog got boring

So I, Britney Jean, have a proposal.

I tried this awhile back. Each day of the week I had a specific topic to write about (i.e. Monday Mission, Tuesday Treasure, Wednesday Wisdom, etc.) It worked well for awhile...but then I got too busy.

I want to try this again. But...I want to change it up a bit.

Mondays: Weekend Happenings
~Give a run-down on what happened that weekend. Lots of pictures. Funny stories. Interesting things. Random occurrences. Movie and restaurant recommendations. The like.

Tuesdays: Things to Smile About
~Share a list of things that I am grateful for that just made me smile that week. Situations, people or things that made me thankful to be alive.

Wednesdays: Poll
~Talk about something...give options. Ask for a vote. Then the next week I'll share results and get a new poll ready. (EVERYONE WHO READS MUST VOTE!)

Thursdays: Shout-out
~I'll spotlight someone in my life that I really love, admire or is deserving of a shout-out. Maybe it's their birthday. Maybe they made my day. Or maybe I just felt like saying "I love you."

Fridays: Fun
~My free day. I'll do a fun post on whatever I want to.

Saturdays: Goal day
~I'll set a goal for the upcoming week. The next week I'll share how I did and either try at it for another week or move on to a new goal.

Sundays: Spiritual Thought
~This will probably be my favorite day. I'll share a quote, scripture or just something I've been thinking about lately.

So, we'll see how this change works. I'm sure it will take some tweaking. But it will also be fun.

:)

Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day

On my nineteenth year of life and in honor of my fabulous mother I want to share with everyone nineteen reasons why I have the most amazing mother in the world.

{one}. She is my best friend. Seriously...how many girls can say that they can tell their mother ANYTHING and that has ALWAYS been the case. I can't think of a time in my life where I felt that there was something that I couldn't share with her.

{two}. She is an amazing cook/baker. Plain and simple. I'm lucky to have learned from the best. Hopefully one day I'll be as good as her.

{three}. She's a second mother to my friends. And they love her. All of them. They text HER more than they text ME. I'm not even kidding you. And when I'm married and moved out...I bet they'll still come over to my parent's house just to talk to and play with Mommy Jill. My mom = the coolest.

{four}. She's fun. Way fun. We've had some great moments (i.e. late night excursions to get ice cream and drive by cute boys houses and honk). Yes, we've done that. More than once, actually. Don't make fun.

{five}. She has a strong testimony of the gospel. The spirit has always been in our home. I love that.

{six}. She is creative. I remember back when I was still in primary and she was young women's president. I was definitely jealous because she always made the cutest things for her girls and I always wanted them. But I was too young. Sad day. But this cute and creative flair of hers extends to more than just her previous YW calling. She makes cute posters for people on birthdays, cute hand-outs for the YSA in our ward, cute cards, she's amazing on the computer and various other things. Once again, I've learned from the best.

{seven}. She puts others before herself. She is constantly looking for ways to serve others and has always taught me to do nice things for other people. Whenever I was having a rough time in life, she always taught me to stop thinking about my own problems and start focusing on how others might be going through trials, too. Then she would encourage me to do something nice for someone who probably needed a lifter upper as much as, if not more than, me. I'll never forget this.

{eight}. She watches soap operas. And therefore, so do I. It's something we do together. The Young and the Restless = freaking addicting. Is this fact a bit embarrassing? Perhaps. But it's also true. We're cool. Deal. :)

{nine}. She gives the best advice. Really. It's a fact. I may not always want to hear it. But later on...I realize she was right.

{ten}. Her house is probably the cutest. She should have been an interior designer because she is AMAZING at it. Yup.

{eleven}. She can solve ANY problem. I don't know how she does it. But she can fix any issue. And she makes the solution seem soooooo obvious. It comes in handy---although it makes me feel like an idiot sometimes.

{twelve}. She puts up with me. This is a biggie. Wow. She knows everything about me and she still loves me. :)

{thirteen}. She knows fashion. And loves fashion. She can go shopping (without me) and come home with the cutest shirt EVER and it WILL fit. How she can do that? I have no clue. I can't even walk into a store and buy something without trying it on. Because it won't fit. But she just knows. And undoubtedly, whatever she buys is adorable. Because she gets style.

{fourteen}. She lets me borrow her jewelry...even though she knows that I won't give it back. She has to come back to my room and get it herself.

{fifteen}. She stays up late and parties with me. See---I told you she's fun.

{sixteen}. She listens to the best music. And lets me turn it up REALLY loud when I'm in the car with her. She'll even dance. It's great.

{seventeen}. Randomly, she'll buy me pineapple or chocolate milk just to surprise me cuz she knows it'll make me happy. And she likes to see me smile.

{eighteen}. She doesn't use recipes. That's just cool. Her salsa = the best. Her dill dip = the best. No recipe. Always good.

{nineteen}. She's truly grateful to be alive. She can always find something to be thankful for in life. She loves the little things.

Basically, I have the best mommy in the world. And I love her. Happy Mother's Day mom!

I don't have many pictures of her (she's usually the one TAKING the pics) but here are a few.
