Happier than Ever

While in Calif for Spring Break, my fabulous mother decided to do a photo-shoot with Jess and I. We got some really great shots and we all feel that it was very fun...even Jess. He was such a good sport about our 2 hour picture taking adventure. I love him so much!! It was way fun just getting to stand there and naturally pose ourselves. Really...I loved it! Enjoy!

Yes, this happens often...he's so much stronger than me...grr.... :]

This one is seriously one of my favorites!!! :]

Looking at those is killing me. Why? Well...for those of you who don't know...Jess went on a cruise this past week with his family for Spring Break. He left last Saturday night and doesn't get home until tonight. Yes. I know...sad. He tried to get out of it but they would not refund him. So he was forced to go. We knew that a week apart would be hard --- but we had NO IDEA just how hard it would be. Oh my goodness. Seriously? It was pretty much the worst week of my life. We thought we'd be able to call and text a ton.We were definitely wrong. The roaming charges were so bad that we couldn't --- like at all. Calling was out of the question and only a few texts were allowed. We did e-mail...but even those charges were ridiculous so it was a bit sporadic. I definitely don't recommend this to any newly engaged couples. It is WAYYYYYYYYYY hard. But I just got a phone call from my boy because he was at the airport in D.C. at a stop. Now he is on his way home and I will get to see him in about 5 hours. I AM SO EXCITED. LIKE WOW. My day got so much better when I heard his voice. Anyway...it was good. I just love him. :]

Happy St. Patrick's Day

So today I was cleaning and doing my homework like a good little girl SHOULD be doing and I get a text from my mom:

Mom: Why don't you make some GREEN cupcakes? Mmmm

Brit: ahahaha

Mom: I was SERIOUS you domestic little goddess :) then take to visit teach ladies :) hmmm its an idea.

Brit: That is an idea

Mom: Now I am laughing!

Yes, these types of conversations happen almost every day. But I liked her idea. So you know what I did? I made green cupcakes with green frosting to take to my visiting teaching ladies. There ARE yummy! Didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them to, put ohs wells. Here are some pictures.

The Ring has Arrived

Okay...so I don't really know where to start this post exactly so I guess I will start here:

Jess and I have been talking for awhile about getting married so I knew it was coming but I wasn't exactly sure how or when (though about a gazillion other people were).

This week is my Spring Break and Jess came out to Newport with me and my family. My mom and I drove up on Sunday and Jess was going to meet us here on Monday. However, on Sunday just before I left...Jess handed me a gift and said, "I'll let you know when you can open this. It will be sometime tomorrow." I was DYING. I just wanted to see what it was! But I was a good little girlfriend and didn't peek. The next day around noon he text me and informed me that I could open the gift. I ripped into it and found a cute juicy necklace, a CD, and a poem. It said something about how this wasn't the jewelry I really wanted but that I would get that later. It also said to listen to the CD he gave me. Well...I opened the CD case to find it empty of a CD but with a note. The CD wouldn't work so he told me the gist of what the CD WOULD HAVE SAID (he did it in poem form). I was going to get my "desired" jewelry the next day. But...I wasn't going to see him that night anymore. I know this might sound a bit pathetic...but I cried when I found out I wasn't going to get to see him when I originally had planned to. Seriously. FULL ON TEARS. I know. What can I say? I love my boy. A LOT.

The next morning I woke up to another gift. "Oh great," I thought, "He's gonna give me another piece of jewelry and inform me I can't see him til TOMORROW again..." But I was wrong. Well, on one part. Yes, I got more jewelry. This time a really cute watch (with a secret message). This poem told me to look on the watch to find the time I could see him (it was actually a bit tricky). And a riddle to find out where. I got this much...go south. Okay....um....Carlsbad? And a field of
flowers? I wasn't really sure...but my mom knew where it was so she helped out a bit. :]

At noon I FINALLY got to see Jesse. He looked so cute!!! We went a tractor ride (with about 15 old people...and us). We looked at pretty flowers and enjoyed each others company. Then we went to this little maze...that SHOULD have been easy...but obviously Jess and I are a bit stupid because we tried EVERY WAY except the right way. Oh...and at one point on the wagon ride, Jess started to crack up and turned my head pointing in the opposite direction. I knew something was up but I decided to follow his wishes and not look. Cuz i'm nice like that. :] After the maze, we walked up this hill and there was a picnic basket and some flowers and sparkling cider waiting for us. Our moms had been setting it up when we drove by in the tractor so that's why Jess was laughing. We had yummy sandwiches and AMAZING chocolate covered strawberries. Then, I got yet ANOTHER piece of jewelry (no, not the one I REALLY wanted). Juicy earrings and a poem that yet again told me I wasn't going to get my desired jewelry yet but that he enjoyed that I listened to him. And then a bit later another note that said something about at 4 we would "soar". He then handed me chocolate shaped like a balloon. WE WERE GOING TO GO HOT AIR BALLOONING!

We had some extra time to kill so we decided to take some pictures with our moms (or as they like to say our moms-in-law). Then we headed off to the hot air balloon ride. Watching the thing get set-up was way cool but Jess and I could NOT figure out how they were going to fit 12 people + 1 pilot in that small basket. But somehow they managed. We took off and about two minutes later...Jess started to whisper some sweet things to me and then asked me, "Are you ready for me to do something crazy?" I knew it was coming. He got on one knee and proposed. In California. On a hot air balloon. So sweet! :] Of course I said yes and then he put the most GORGEOUS ring on my finger! I just love him. It was the best moment EVER! The pilot commented that this was definitely the fastest he'd ever seen anyone propose on a ride (which of course is Jesse's style cuz he could NOT wait...so cute). We also got to watch the sunset from the hot air balloon. It was beautiful!!!

Jess wanted to take this one. :]

Anyway...it was the best day of my life and I couldn't be happier!! :] He is the most amazing guy that I have ever known and I'm convinced that he is perfect for me. We were definitely meant to be together. I was so impressed with all the poems that he had written throughout the whole day---they were VERY impressive. He's so cute!!

F.Y.I. --- We have set a date: June 12 in the Mesa temple.

GET ME OUTTA HERE!!

So the past week has probably been one of the craziest of my life. At least in the top five. My days went something like this:

***Go to school
***Study
***Memorize
***Study some more
***Write a paper
***Eat something unhealthy to try to reduce your stress
--side note: this doesn't help. seriously. don't try it. it only causes more stress.
***Study yet some more
***Read that chapter you skipped over
***Cram
***See Jess for a bit
***Study

Seriously, it has not been fun. But now it is OVER. And i'm writing a blog. Finally. I miss blogging so much.

So...Thursday night I still had a bunch of cramming to do for my intense Friday midterm. Six o'clock came around and I just couldn't TAKE IT anymore. I needed out of my house. IMMEDIATELY. So I called up Jess. He came over. I informed him that we need to start taking more pictures so I have them for my lovely blog. We posed for the camera for a bit. And then we went and saw Echelon Conspiracy.
--Comments on the movie: It was pretty good. I enjoyed my time. It is a lot like Eagle Eye but isn't as good as that one. So don't go into it expecting it to be competition for that one. However, it was entertaining and i'm glad we saw it. And Shane West is in it. I've been waiting to see him in another movie since A Walk to Remember seven years ago. So that was bliss. :]

And now for much awaited pictures....

Drumroll please ************

I know, I know. We're insane.

My favorite face to kiss ;)

It can get a bit scary...

He's proud of his muscles. And I love them.

We can smile, too!

I love my Jess! Thanks for saving me from going insane on Thursday night! I love you.
