{one}. She is my best friend. Seriously...how many girls can say that they can tell their mother ANYTHING and that has ALWAYS been the case. I can't think of a time in my life where I felt that there was something that I couldn't share with her.
{two}. She is an amazing cook/baker. Plain and simple. I'm lucky to have learned from the best. Hopefully one day I'll be as good as her.
{three}. She's a second mother to my friends. And they love her. All of them. They text HER more than they text ME. I'm not even kidding you. And when I'm married and moved out...I bet they'll still come over to my parent's house just to talk to and play with Mommy Jill. My mom = the coolest.
{four}. She's fun. Way fun. We've had some great moments (i.e. late night excursions to get ice cream and drive by cute boys houses and honk). Yes, we've done that. More than once, actually. Don't make fun.
{five}. She has a strong testimony of the gospel. The spirit has always been in our home. I love that.
{six}. She is creative. I remember back when I was still in primary and she was young women's president. I was definitely jealous because she always made the cutest things for her girls and I always wanted them. But I was too young. Sad day. But this cute and creative flair of hers extends to more than just her previous YW calling. She makes cute posters for people on birthdays, cute hand-outs for the YSA in our ward, cute cards, she's amazing on the computer and various other things. Once again, I've learned from the best.
{seven}. She puts others before herself. She is constantly looking for ways to serve others and has always taught me to do nice things for other people. Whenever I was having a rough time in life, she always taught me to stop thinking about my own problems and start focusing on how others might be going through trials, too. Then she would encourage me to do something nice for someone who probably needed a lifter upper as much as, if not more than, me. I'll never forget this.
{eight}. She watches soap operas. And therefore, so do I. It's something we do together. The Young and the Restless = freaking addicting. Is this fact a bit embarrassing? Perhaps. But it's also true. We're cool. Deal. :)
{nine}. She gives the best advice. Really. It's a fact. I may not always want to hear it. But later on...I realize she was right.
{ten}. Her house is probably the cutest. She should have been an interior designer because she is AMAZING at it. Yup.
{eleven}. She can solve ANY problem. I don't know how she does it. But she can fix any issue. And she makes the solution seem soooooo obvious. It comes in handy---although it makes me feel like an idiot sometimes.
{twelve}. She puts up with me. This is a biggie. Wow. She knows everything about me and she still loves me. :)
{thirteen}. She knows fashion. And loves fashion. She can go shopping (without me) and come home with the cutest shirt EVER and it WILL fit. How she can do that? I have no clue. I can't even walk into a store and buy something without trying it on. Because it won't fit. But she just knows. And undoubtedly, whatever she buys is adorable. Because she gets style.
{fourteen}. She lets me borrow her jewelry...even though she knows that I won't give it back. She has to come back to my room and get it herself.
{fifteen}. She stays up late and parties with me. See---I told you she's fun.
{sixteen}. She listens to the best music. And lets me turn it up REALLY loud when I'm in the car with her. She'll even dance. It's great.
{seventeen}. Randomly, she'll buy me pineapple or chocolate milk just to surprise me cuz she knows it'll make me happy. And she likes to see me smile.
{eighteen}. She doesn't use recipes. That's just cool. Her salsa = the best. Her dill dip = the best. No recipe. Always good.
{nineteen}. She's truly grateful to be alive. She can always find something to be thankful for in life. She loves the little things.
Basically, I have the best mommy in the world. And I love her. Happy Mother's Day mom!
I don't have many pictures of her (she's usually the one TAKING the pics) but here are a few.
