Okay...so I don't really know where to start this post exactly so I guess I will start here:
Jess and I have been talking for awhile about getting married so I knew it was coming but I wasn't exactly sure how or when (though about a gazillion other people were).
This week is my Spring Break and Jess came out to Newport with me and my family. My mom and I drove up on Sunday and Jess was going to meet us here on Monday. However, on Sunday just before I left...Jess handed me a gift and said, "I'll let you know when you can open this. It will be sometime tomorrow." I was DYING. I just wanted to see what it was! But I was a good little girlfriend and didn't peek. The next day around noon he text me and informed me that I could open the gift. I ripped into it and found a cute juicy necklace, a CD, and a poem. It said something about how this wasn't the jewelry I really wanted but that I would get that later. It also said to listen to the CD he gave me. Well...I opened the CD case to find it empty of a CD but with a note. The CD wouldn't work so he told me the gist of what the CD WOULD HAVE SAID (he did it in poem form). I was going to get my "desired" jewelry the next day. But...I wasn't going to see him that night anymore. I know this might sound a bit pathetic...but I cried when I found out I wasn't going to get to see him when I originally had planned to. Seriously. FULL ON TEARS. I know. What can I say? I love my boy. A LOT.
The next morning I woke up to another gift. "Oh great," I thought, "He's gonna give me another piece of jewelry and inform me I can't see him til TOMORROW again..." But I was wrong. Well, on one part. Yes, I got more jewelry. This time a really cute watch (with a secret message). This poem told me to look on the watch to find the time I could see him (it was actually a bit tricky). And a riddle to find out where. I got this much...go south. Okay....um....Carlsbad? And a field of
flowers? I wasn't really sure...but my mom knew where it was so she helped out a bit. :]
At noon I FINALLY got to see Jesse. He looked so cute!!! We went a tractor ride (with about 15 old people...and us). We looked at pretty flowers and enjoyed each others company. Then we went to this little maze...that SHOULD have been easy...but obviously Jess and I are a bit stupid because we tried EVERY WAY except the right way. Oh...and at one point on the wagon ride, Jess started to crack up and turned my head pointing in the opposite direction. I knew something was up but I decided to follow his wishes and not look. Cuz i'm nice like that. :] After the maze, we walked up this hill and there was a picnic basket and some flowers and sparkling cider waiting for us. Our moms had been setting it up when we drove by in the tractor so that's why Jess was laughing. We had yummy sandwiches and AMAZING chocolate covered strawberries. Then, I got yet ANOTHER piece of jewelry (no, not the one I REALLY wanted). Juicy earrings and a poem that yet again told me I wasn't going to get my desired jewelry yet but that he enjoyed that I listened to him. And then a bit later another note that said something about at 4 we would "soar". He then handed me chocolate shaped like a balloon. WE WERE GOING TO GO HOT AIR BALLOONING!

We had some extra time to kill so we decided to take some pictures with our moms (or as they like to say our moms-in-law). Then we headed off to the hot air balloon ride. Watching the thing get set-up was way cool but Jess and I could NOT figure out how they were going to fit 12 people + 1 pilot in that small basket. But somehow they managed. We took off and about two minutes later...Jess started to whisper some sweet things to me and then asked me, "Are you ready for me to do something crazy?" I knew it was coming. He got on one knee and proposed. In California. On a hot air balloon. So sweet! :] Of course I said yes and then he put the most GORGEOUS ring on my finger! I just love him. It was the best moment EVER! The pilot commented that this was definitely the fastest he'd ever seen anyone propose on a ride (which of course is Jesse's style cuz he could NOT wait...so cute). We also got to watch the sunset from the hot air balloon. It was beautiful!!!

Jess wanted to take this one. :]

Anyway...it was the best day of my life and I couldn't be happier!! :] He is the most amazing guy that I have ever known and I'm convinced that he is perfect for me. We were definitely meant to be together. I was so impressed with all the poems that he had written throughout the whole day---they were VERY impressive. He's so cute!!
